Thanks to Paddleboy84, I got my new kayak from Lodi a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately work has been keeping me away from it most of time, and so far I was only able to do minimal rigging. It was a struggle to mount the transducer for Lowrance Elite 4 in the available slot without having it sticking out of the bottom, but I finally managed to mount it reasonably firmly in there. I only got a chance to take a couple of poor quality pictures, and will take more pics later.

Nice rig, did you mount the transducer in the scupper or in the hull.

Sweet yak!  You will have plenty of time to work in your life.  Now get it and fish!

Thanks Yakman. The kayak has a special scupper with room to fit a hummingbird transducer, and it is a little small for the Lowrance transducer, therefore the struggle for mounting. I did not mount in the hull because I want to get strong enough signal and read accurate temperature.

Thanks Bret. What you said is very true, and I constantly try to remind myself of the same. It is just hard to leave work behind when a bunch of people is waiting for me... Well, I need to work on myself more.

Congrats on the new rig!  Here's a link to my Lowrance FF mounting.  There was no way to avoid the transducer sticking past the plane of the boat - but, the way i did it the transducer is rock solid without any movement.  I have not had any problems with this set up.

Nice step by step pictures Kenny. Unfortunately I did not take any picture while mounting the transducer. I just went and take a picture now, and hopefully it is still easy to see. What I did is similar to Kenny, except I grind away some metal from the bracket, positioned it in an angled way against the back of the mount hole so the transducer has a chance to partially fit inside the hole and not stick out of the bottom of the yak. I also cut a couple of pieces of thick rubber so the angled bracket can rest on them firmly on the other two sides. The mounting is firm and solid.
