You will find that it is a very welcoming community. Post a report from the port tomorrow and let us know how you do.

A great way to meet other yak anglers is to attend hookups and local free seminars.  A friend and I plan to host a steelhead/drop anchor clinic at Headwaters in Lodi sometime in January. Bird puts on free clinics about once a month at CCK in Sacramento that are well worth attending.

Right on, welcome. I live up in Lodi and do a lot of large mouth bass fishing in this area. Still haven't caught any stripers yet. Where do you normally fish at?

Normally I would fish striper and sturgeon out of rio vista area out of a much bigger boat, I also like to fish trout out of the foot hill lakes, and recently I have targeted black bass  I figured it was an easy way to get my bearings in a kayak.
