It's no worse than any other place on the coast.  Keep an eye open and you'll see if there are any offshore breaks about.

...just to prove jmairey wrong...I busted out the gulp bait and caught a black rockfish    ....that later on, got a he-uge ling to hitchhike on it  ...but because I forgot my trusted net, I had to use Allen's gaff...which I don't really use CAUSE I HATE USING IT 

no "GULP" was used in the harming of these fish

I went over to my Sushiman buddy - YOKOS at South City - (Linden and Grand Ave.) and had him clean and cook my stringer

Hey, do I notice some molly inspiration on your box there?  And I must say, after some initial reservation, I think that orange plano is the greatest thing to happen to my kayak fishing settup in a while.

I have not noticed any issues in how much tackle I can bring.  It is just perfect, and opens up the rest of the tankwell for my inevitable bait tank/live well.
