Sounds like maybe no one has?   Admin and mods made the decision to limit his posts on NCKA to "topics that do not involve money whatsoever."  We haven't banned him and we won't unless he posts contrary to our polite request.

The track record was building up and we really don't want (*won't allow*) this community forum to be a vehicle for our members to be bamboozled, misled, or swindled.  Though Spike has not deleted his account, it doesn't look like he's visiting the site after his last post.  You may have to email or phone him in order to get your derby shirts if he's not looking on NCKA anymore.   :lurk:

What I never understood is why shirts weren't at the derby?  Isn't that part of having a contest, everyone's wearing the shirt? And, his 'last post' insists there has never been any controversy over derby prizes................How did this thread begin again? :merror:

It's tough anytime to enforce any of the very few rules on the board and even tougher when it's someone who's been around for so long, and has charmed so many along the way.  So for all those waiting, good luck.  If someone owed me a shirt for a derby, I'd probably put some effort into getting it.  Or maybe I wouldn't want it anymore....

This isn't my resentment really, but when it is, I've found letting it go often makes the most sense for me (actually, italways makes the most sense, just takes me a while sometimes).

I just wanted to check in and weigh in, and be sure we made the correct decision with this particular situation, and I do.   :smt006

I'm sad to see it come to this, but what must be done must be done.  Hopefully after his family/personal situation is worked through he can earn back the trust of the group.
Less Mental than before, Still savage AF tho <3

This is unfortunate indeed.

I will take a moment to be sarcastic and self-serving, but I think it's an important reminder about the true nature of this board and club, and it's also important that new people here understand...

Hi, I'm Abking.  If I fail to deliver your Gimme Shelter shirt or hoodie RIGHT WHEN WE MEET AT THE EVENT I'd like you to kick me square in the nuts, and I'll do my best to take it like a Shaolin Monk in training.

This here is how it works:

I feel a little better now, but I gotta say this pisses me off.

Bushy,

You remember for perch derby a few years ago, I signed up but then couldn't attend?  You offered to mail my shirt but I kept saying , no, I'll get it next time I see you. You dragged that shirt around from one potential meeting spot to the next, having it at the ready in your truck, until we FINALLY met some months after the derby. It was actually at Aquanaut year end potluck. It was unexpected courtesy but really appreciated. And that's why, years later, I still love my shirt and hav fond memories of receiving it from you.

Sux if bros still ain't got they shirts. work and life is too hard to be jacked like that from within.

Have to say that I'm one of those who have been "charmed" by Spike and have risen to his defense many a times.  This situation and his lack of resolve to even be present on this board to explain extraordinary circumstances is as most have said,  is just sad  :smt011

He has been given the Benefit of the doubt and yet this is still an issue.  It's just not right,  not what we all stand for here and I applaud the moderators for taking action to uphold the values of this forum.

Sorry Spike,  I understand logistic problems,  but if you really care about your rep and this forum,  this should be priority one and least give those concerned blow by blow reports of how your resolving this.  I've gotten In between your stuff in the past,  but this one your on your own and hope you do some explaining followed by action, Fast!

Wow.  I completely forgot about that!  Thanks for the reminder.  At first I thought you were going to say you never got one....that would be embarrassing LOL!

Serriously, I get a feeling of pride that you, and any of the NCKA fly a Sand Crab Classic flag.

BTW entiries will open next week, soon as the new website goes active, I'll post invite separately......

Same way I feel about GS gear with NCKA colors on it.  It's not personal gain - it's club pride.

Really unfortunate.  I've only met Spike once at Ocean Cove last year and he seemed like a good dude, but again, thats just based on a single encounter.

Hopefully he will do what's right and clear things up with everyone.  If not, I like Allen's approach.

I've found letting it go often makes the most sense for me (actually, italways makes the most sense, just takes me a while sometimes).

Several years ago, I PM'd him to purchase one of the shark shields that he had for sale. Despite several inquiries, he would never reply. I'm so glad I held onto my money.
