How'd angle and eugene fare?

Angle bailed before we got back to shore, but Eugene said he had a big cab and some Lings and rockies. His new yak is sweet!!  :smt007

Eugene had a tankwell of nice Lings and assorted goodies...between him and Nathan the Tsuji family will never starve!!

It wasn't wide open but we were able to find some fish.  The drift was crazy so I spent a lot more time yanking on my rod  :smt003 and having to re-tie than I would have wanted.

In the end I went home with 2 descent blues, 1 nice olive, 1 smallish brown, a slightly more than legal ling, and a very nice sized cab.

I decided to H&L rather than dive so that I could become more familiar with the Eddyline Carribbean 14 that I picked up from Dan at Headwaters a couple of days ago.  I took it out to the Alviso Slough Saturday morning but the wind was howling and I didn't paddle very far.  So yesterday was it's real maiden voyage.

I've had the Marauder for so long that getting on this new boat felt a bit wrong.  There are definetely some things I'm going to have to get used to but overall I'm really liking the new boat.  One definite improvement is the ability to paddle through the kelp, this thing cuts though it with ease.  In the Marauder I felt like it would just sit on top of the kelp and wouldn't move.

Rather than hijack Jim's thread with my boat review I'll start a seperate thread in a day or two when I get more tme.  It sounds like quite a few of us have either bought or are thinking of buying a Carribbean...we should exchange thoughts/ideas with each other.  I see that there are a couple of reviews but not much conversation.

Congrats on the nice catch Jim, that's a fish to be proud of.  Thanks for the invite, hanging with you guys is always fun and even though I wasn't in the water with you all just hearing the hooting and hollering made me glad i was there.

I know you like yanking on your rod.  :smt002 :smt003 :smt044

The eddyline looked sweet bro. I'm sure with a little time in the saddle it will start to feel more like home...every new boat always seems a little weird until your body gets used to it.  :smt001

Glad you got some nice fish to bring home and let's do it again soon!

After the rock prank you gave them each a beer. Did they see you open that beer???  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044
Congrats on the big ling and the deep dive.
I remember when 35ft was out of your realm.
You are a damned good diver Jim. Always love watching your videos.

I thought it was a little weird the way he zipped up his fly right after handing them out. Lol
