Well... the stars were not in alignment again and looks like I'm gonna be the first to drop off; I was not able to get the additional vacation time off.... :smt013

So, looks like a spot will be opening up again :smt010; Raydon has got first shot at it, then I will just give it to whomever pays me there $100 Deposit. Then I'll call them and let them know.....

Whew....I was worried we were going to have to spend three days on a boat with you.

J/K, dude. Sorry you can't make it.

Fellas - Don't forget your bait tubes or live wells. The little Plano bait buckets don't cut it.

I used a Plano bait bucket last year, and it worked out fine. One of the deck hands (Justin I think) brings out the bait to you, so you always have fresh live bait. I kept my bait bucket in the water and pulled it onto my kayak when I had to paddle longer distances.

You will have to paddle to catch up to the mothership once you get dropped off in the morning and it leaves for the lunch anchorage, and once again after lunch to the evening anchorage. So paddling with a large bait tube hanging over the side might not be such a good idea.

I didn't think the quality of delivered bait was consistent.  The bait was placed in a cooler that I don't think was rigged for re-circulating water.  If the dingy had a long run or you got yours after he made a few stops, the bait was beat up by that point.  I used an onboard livewell, with a pump supplying fresh water.  The bait lasted for quite a while.   There were a couple of keys to keeping the bait good.  Don't overload the tank.  A dozen pieces was more than enough.  Empty out the dead ones regularly.  After taking a dozen on, usually 3-4 turn pretty quickly.  Don't leave those sitting in the bait tank.  And don't mix squid and finfish.  The squid will kill the finfish.

I thought the 'dines we had were way too big for a Plano bucket. I was able to keep 7 or 8 alive in my tube, though.

It was also my first time ever using a bait tube and it created a lot less drag than I thought it would.
