My forecast was from NOAA. Yours looks a little better.

Definitely bringing my drift sock.

Your looks like it came from the next region outside of San Clemente.

Got to my condo in San Diego on Saturday evening.  Didn't trust the insecure garage so the yaks came inside the house where are safe and loved. The weather is great and the beach is warm. Can't FN wait

Probly not. I am making a family vacation before the real show begins. That being said, if anybody does fish LA Jolla please let me know. Maybe I can get a hall pass

Hey Allen - Do you know if Brent will be hooking us up with a discount at OEX this year?

I need a new PFD and a new pair of Costas!

One thing I always find useful on multi-day trips like this ... bring some Neosporin and apply it like lotion on your hands at the end of the day.  You all know how many little nicks and cuts you get fishing hard like this.  Well, now imagine 3 days in a row.

The next useful thing I find is a seat cushion.  Your ass will thank you for it.

And oh, bring some deck boots, for those breaks you'll take fishing on deck, or the night time squid fishing.  Keep your feet dry!

speaking of hand care, I got a tip from a long range fisherman on "samurai" gloves. They are thin Atlas-type gloves with an ANSI cut rating of 5-6, made for HVAC installers. Braid won't cut them (tested at Shelter). They are the current choice of the LR crowd, over Aftco, etc. and they are only about $6/ pair.

99% of my fishing gear is packed. Just gotta get my clothes together and pick up some snax for the road. I'm hoping to hit the road around 5:00AM and pick up Kiel around 6:00AM Thursday morning.

I have 4 or 5 Salas jr and a Salas 6x to hand out if anyone needs irons.

I'm fishing 90% live bait. I'm hoping for a slow enough drift to use 1 or 2 oz Carolina rig, but if the drift is fast I have a drift sock and will switch to a 3-way rig so I can use up to 8oz. Got new packs or Owner ringed liveliners in size 1/0, 2/0, and 3/0.

Shit's gettin' real.  :smt001
