Don't forget your ocean enhancement stamps and sleeping bags!

I'm bringing my "house shoes" this year to rock on the boat during the evenings, too.

Operation sell my PA14 and get a smaller Hobie worked out great !!! Noticed the motherships wouldn't take my "aircraft carrier" and figured its a perfect time to switch it up. 2014 Outback in my hands now :smt007 …….. Now onto the some ship question I have. Do I bring a cooler on the boat(small for beers and snacks), is it looked down on to bring a 30 rack or some of my own beer? I saw its $2 a beer and would rather save on buying beer the whole time. Oh and did I say that I am pumped up. Thanks Kyle

I don't ever recall being told NOT to, but I've never asked either.

I'd ask that you don't store it on deck.  It will get crowded with fishing gear.  We'll have 2 people to a stateroom, that has 3 bunks.  So there is a full bunk that you and your bunkmate can store stuff.

Recommended gear list from the Islander site.  I'm bolded items that are particularly needed.

Quote
Short Bow line, 6-8 feet - Kayaks are often tied off to the dive step.
Bait sled or bait tank - Bait is provided aboard all fishing trips and usually consists of 4- 6 inch sardine.
Rod Holders with leashes
USCG approved Life vest
KayakHand held VHF radio - The best way to contact the mother ship or skiff. Also a great way to find out what other fishermen are catching.
Flares for night time signaling.
Smoke Signals for daytime signaling.
Sea anchor for both drift fishing and emergencies.

NOT bringing any of my own beer or perishables.  Should I bring a cooler on board for fish, or leave it in the car until we return. I assume the boat is capable of storing fish until we return...?

Leave your fish cooler in your car.  The boat has a refrigerated sea water system that will keep your catch fresh.  Back at the dock, they'll bring the fish up to the loading area.  You'll have time to run to your car and get your cooler.  Ice is also sold right there.

Sounds like leave the cooler in the car, they have one on deck... Another question is how do they identify who catches what? I heard last year they gave a lot of Pats thresher away by accident.

I don't recall that.  I recall Pat generously handing out thresher steaks.  Thanks Pat!
