I can't believe I missed this thread/survey. I'm down. Calling in the morning if my phone works up at the Buddhist temple in Ukiah.

YES!  :groupwave

Gonna call first thing in the morning. If any of my dudes need a little help, let me know. I also have room for one. Kiel has dibs.

A few tips:
Eat a good breakfast or lunch on Friday. There was literally a mad dash for pizza right before we loaded up the boat this year. They don't feed you Friday night.
Beg, buy, borrow, or steal a good seat. I was on the big boat for a total of probably 1.5 hours the last day.
Or...if you're worried about being able to stay out that long, don't. Plenty of good fish were caught from the big boat this year.
Pack light. I think we all did an exceptional job of that this last time. Don't be the guy in the way that everyone is waiting for.
Take lots of pics. I took a shitload last time and still wish I had taken more.
Try and save a little bit ahead to tip the crew. I guarantee you they will deserve it.
If you're not good with a gaff then bring a good net. If it wasn't for Al's gaff skills I might have lost my jackpot winning halibut.
Check out the fellas at OEX before the trip. They hooked us up big time this year. I'm waiting to buy a new PFD from them in June.

I'm sure I'll think of more and others from previous trips will chime in.

I can't f***ing wait!!!

Great advice Dustin!

I always bring more tackle than I really need.  but here's what I used mostly on last year's trip:

Swimbaits- 2 oz to 4oz....big swimbaits work fine even for the smaller calico's
Irons.  like megabaits, and social irons, both yoyo and surface (Maybe yellowtail)
WSB rigs
Halibut Rigs

and, halibut rigs....

We had live squid up the yin yang.  You can bring hooks and leader material, but I like to tie rigs beforehand, esp if my buddies are catching fish next to me,  I get a bit shaky trying to tie knots. If you're in the zone, get that bait DOWN!

I brought a couple 30-pound rigs, and a 20-pound rig, and a lighter 15-pound spin rod for fun.  Might bring a 10-pound spin this year as well.

And if possible, try to bring a very light bass rod for the 100+ pound thresher sharks, right PK?
