I didn't want to threadjack the shark death thread any more than it already is.

Hi, my name is Allen, and I dangle.  Do you?

Water sure is cold....
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Mysterioso socks under tempest pants with Chota mucluks. Not cold. When drifting I almost always have my feet in the water. Better posture for the back and slows the drift down a bit in the breeze. No tortugas around here.

Check out any one of my youtube videos. My feet are in the water probably 70% of the time.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I do occasionally dangle. Basically same gear as RavensBlack: thin neo socks over NRS workboots for da feet, mysterioso  and neoprene for the legs. Cold hasn't been an issue.

Mostly though, my feet are within the craft. Must be from all those years on public school buses "keep your arms and hands inside the vehicle!"

I side saddle all the time and dangle my bleeding fish over the side of my kayak.

I do but probably won't in the future. I am not sure about the GWS not being a nibbler like tiger sharks. Surfers are frequently dangling when hit by white sharks and there have been quite a few where only the leg was bitten off.

No-one even got that joke?? No-one?? :smt010

PS. I dangle about 60% of the time, feels better on my back, but that is sweetwater, not a damn thing is going to snap my toes in sweetwater.

Yes.  Try to limit it but I do for sure.  Probably will continue to do it as well.

Howard McKim has a video of me in which I'm dangling.  7-8' salmon sharks are busting on pink salmon all around me.  And you can hear Howard say, "you better get your feet in".  I listened to him ... I think.
