Time to do a few modifications. Hope the wife doesn't check out NCKA any time soon.. :smt002

Question...Santa and his Elf love sea food. Can Santa and his buddy pack a lunch (squid pieces) while fishing?

The question has been asked if the holiday lure can be enhanced with a strip of bait such as squid.

My head says no--unless it is tipped with  chocolate chip cookies, crescent cookies, browneyed susan cookies, Martha Washington Balls or something similar.  How could you even ask? :smt044

My heart says a little squid is ok as long as you sing White Christmas out loud and every time the words white Christmas comes up, you replace it with squid Christmas.

Amazing.  But do you have a shot of the fish on a measuring stick or hog  trough?

Yes, but I disqualify myself as "Santa's Little Helper" was packing some squid in his lunch box (on the lead-head). I did sing "Squid Christmas" over the radio  earlier in the day and constantly (much to Cameron's dismay I am sure) while jigging the lures.... :smt044

The "lure" below was a real festive one....Jingle Bait

I am overcome with joy at the spirit of the Holiday Tournament.  Surely our energy will provide a positive impact for love and peace throughout the world this coming year :smt007.  We have doubled the entries from last year and  more will be coming in as I know we have some sandbaggers.  So it could be close.  One more day to go.  Go forth ye merry holiday anglers and do the twitch and jerk jingle with your modified ornaments.  The benchmark has been set by Adam with a 28 inch ling.   :smt003

Nice lure, Rockfish.  I thought you might bag a winner with that 10 inch tin Santa.  If we combined both the lure and the fish, it still comes up shorter than Fishhunter's ling.  Thanks for participating in the second Holiday tournament.    You got one more day.  Btw, it was nice seeing you at Anchor Bay over the weekend.

Went out today. Sonoma coast, found surprisingly good conditions, moderately windy, infrequent swell to about 3ft., fishing was a little slow during the 12pm-3:30pm window. Caught 2 x barley legal lings. I didn't deploy my Christmas lure but was a happy way to close out 2013 fishing.

Fishunter is the winner of this years Holiday Tournament.  He ended up catching the legal ling on a swimbait that was garnished with
a holiday garland.  Honorable mention went to Rockfish catching his fish on a tin ornament.  I have to mention Allen (O2B) naming his lure as Jingle Bait.  We had triple the contestants as last  year and many viewers.  As of now, I  have had no complaints of missing ornaments from any of the contestant's  wives.

Thanks to all who participated.
