I am an avid kayak angler who primarily targets redfish along the Texas coast.  I am looking to expand my fishing and with the wife having family in California, it might be one of the next spots abroad for me to fish.  Looking forward to learning about fishing the Pacific Coast.

No, it isn't but he and I have some mutual friends.  We actually went on a camping trip a few weeks ago and I went with the initial group and ended up leaving a bit early.  He came with a second wave of guys and stayed until the last guys left so we didn't actually cross paths though we were on the same camping trip.  Go figure.  I don't do any BTB fishing.  I typically stick to the shallow water marshes.  I like sightcasting to the redfish.

Where are your wife's relatives living? You will be able to hook up with someone here. We are in Sonoma county.

Here most Marshes are closed to fishing. You most likely will learn to fish 1 mile off the shore.
