There's no way I can go tomorrow, but I'm hoping to get out there on Sunday. Whereabouts do you plan to fish?

Sunday looks like the better day anyway. Not sure on the launch site yet. Last time I fished between 3and 5 mile and there was a big group of boats which I found out later where getting halibut.

I launched out of the harbor yesterday.  No wind at all.  Fished in 50 feet of water straight out from the apartments.  At 10:00am it went wide open for cod and lings.  Whole squid and sardines got wacked on every drop.  Have fun and expect the ocean to be alive, freeking birds seals and bait everywhere....

Newbie here, we launched out of capitola last week and paddled to pleasure point. We are going out tomorrow the 17th and would love some advice. Hooked up on a couple fish last trip but not very consistent. Is the Harbor a better bet?

I don't usually fish here in town I go up the coast a bit to launch from. I always have good luck up there. I guess that's why I always go back.

The winds didn't get to bad today and tomorrow is going to be lighter. So I think I'm going to launch from 4 mile tomorrow morning. Company is welcome

Just got back from fishing today what a great day otw. Got to try out my new yak today trident 11. Conditions where just perfect what a difference from the last couple days. I launched bout 7 am its kinda a hike to get all ur gear down to. I launched and paddled to my usual spot and made my first drop and instantly hooked up on the drop. Just barely legal ling so I threw it back to catch again later on down the road. I paddled back to where I had started from and did the same drift again and got nailed this time. I knew this one was big I'm glad I had changed my line on my real a few days ago. When it got to the surface and I saw it I was stoked especially after I landed it. Ended up being a personal best  32" didn't get a weight on it though.
