I can't imagine doing that.   A kayaker ate it on the Silver Fork of the American River several years ago.  He got flipped over and the water fall kept him down and he drowned.  The guys in the film were so calm throughout the rescue.  They were prepared.

Its always a good idea to carry a tow rope.  2 weekends ago I was out in the Monterey area with a fishing buddy.
We were 2 miles away from our launch spot.  After an awesome day of fishing it was time to head in. 
The wind picked up and was pushing us back the opposite direction.

I was on my Hobie Revo 13 and my buddy was on OK Mailbu 2XL that he took out solo.
My buddy is the fittest person I know and very athletic.  He is all muscle and as lean as can be.

About the half mark,  :silent: I pulled next to him and tells me he is exhausted and needed a tow.
The strong head wind was preventing him from making any progress.

For the first time in my years of kayak fishing I took my tow rope and pulled him the reminder mile.
I asked him to keep paddling while I pulled using pedal power.
Despite the head wind we still averaged 2.5 knots.  Thanks to pedal power. It took us 1 hour to get in safe and sound.
