Ok, was not expecting to capture shots of what I did!  Had a mountain lion wonder through my yard on Sat 10-20-13 at 7:05 am!  This would explain why our cat has come in seemingly scared a few night.  Also got more good shots of a coyote, a few Bucks, a skunk and a watermelon sized possum!
Time for a second trail cam now!  When I get the second one, I set up for video.
Wow, still a little in awe that we had a predator of that caliber in our yard.

Cat has a collar on?

Really cool too.  I need to set one up at the water trough we have for the critters.

Hey Troy,

Cool pixs.  What's that on the mountain lion's neck?  It appears to be a collar of some sort.  Was he/she tagged by DFG?
We've got a cabin in the Sierras and I've often thought of putting up a game camera to see what walks by when we're not there.  We've had a bear or two stop by and use our deck as their bedroom.  Scared the hell out of me when I opened the drapes one morning to see him laying there.   :smt009
Our little Cocker thought she was big and bad and started barking - WRONG!!  The bear finally got up and walked away.  Thank God!!

Yeah its a radio/GPS collar.  Santa Cruz Puma tracker is run by UCSC, I just sent an email to hopefully someone in the organization, about my sighting, hopefully someone will respond.  My possum shot?  yeah, he's a little tubby one, hence the watermelon remark.  What I didn't post pictures of are the 2 does that were bedded down in front of the camera for about aprox, 47 minutes. Hopefully when I get my second cam, I'll catch some video of these critters.

Cool pictures.  With all that wildlife around, it's no wonder that big cat is hanging around.  I might have to get my own trail cam.  The wife claims she saw a mountain lion cruising through the yard behind ours.

That is awesome.  Nice to see critters out and about and unaware.  Beats reality TV, for sure.

I'd hate to have to put Advantage on that cat.

Awesome...keep us updated on ucsc.  It would be sweet to know if that cat hangs around your neighborhood a lot or has a big range to itself.

How close are you to HW 17?  Could that be the one that was just killed crossing the HW?
