Thanks to all who attended!

The fishing wasn't great today, but the American was full of Chinooks giving us the perverbial middle finger.  Weimarian saved the day by picking up a hail Mary salmon for our grill.

In the continuing tradition of NCKA hookups, the potluck was outstanding.  I didn't have the capacity to sample everything, but what I tried was great. Daleshark was our grillmaster general for the day, and did not let us down with his drum smoker.  Thanks to all who contributed to the cooking!

Due to the slow fishing and the nature of NCKAers we ended up taking lots of trash from the American river parkway.  Some raked the beaches for butts and glass, while others pulled refuse out of the river.  James (Rider) took the first place cleanup prize by hauling back to shore a discarded shopping cart, two palates and a whole mess of refuse. James then re-purposed one of the palates with a set of wheels to make a makeshift wheelbarrow that was used to haul discarded futon mattresses to the dumpster. His prize was a new set of weelez courtesy of Dan at Headwaters!

Thanks again to all those who made this an event worth attending!

Wow, what great community service with all of the trash pick-up... :smt041great job!

Had a fun time, good to see all the NCKA'ers and enjoy some delectable food. I didn't catch a salmon like I had planned (haha - caught lots of clams and trees instead) but it was my first time out and I learned lots! Can't wait for the salmon fishing to pick-up in the coming weeks.

Thanks Adam, for putting this on! Thanks to Headwaters for the support!  :smt003

I stopped by for a quick visit this morning. Good to see so many kayaks on the water. Too bad the fishing was slow. Good job on the clean-up win James, and to everyone else that participated.

Adam and team, Thanks for hosting this event.

Al

Had a freakin blast!!! Tim and James thanks for manning the grills food was amazing. The dudes poppers were my fav. I destroyed riders ribs with the knife but that stopped nobody I turned around and they were gone. My son has been talking about how that fish was the best he's ever had all night!!
I have rider on video passing just in front of us with the shopping cart. I about pissed my pants watching that pass by "hobies new way to shop" who needs a crate shopping carts are easier to find.
Thanks to everyone who made this happen and to all who attended.
The 4hours of windshield time was so worth it!!

Would anyone mind if I stole some of your pics posted here to share with my friends and family?

I laughed so hard when I saw him coming up the river - the first time with the palates roped onto his boat, then the second time he was balancing the cart on the back of his kayak!  :smt044

Then it dawned on me...did he just steal some homeless person's shopping cart?!

Haha.

Thank you all for making this event available to NCKA'ers! I usually get a little tense going somewhere new by myself, nice to have a whole bunch of friendly faces on the water, showing a noob the ropes!

This has been a rough salmon season, but thank you all for introducing me to a new spot!

I only managed to take two pics, first is the mist on the water at sunrise, next was the gorgeous sunshine in the middle of the day! :smt003
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Took OTW pictures of James but I let him share if his willing to.  Here's a picture of my trash.  Working the rockwall I've found water bottles, beer bottles and cans. To my amaze, I've found a coconut.

As always, NCKA turns out the best and the oddest (Rider)  I loved seeing him finally use that Hobie for its intended purpose ;)
The fishing was slow but I wanted a salmon so bad I didn't pick up much trash till the end of the day, and then it was only a few bottles and cans  :smt011

Henry had a great time and after chillin with the crew he passed out hard for a few hours once we got home (me too)

Ron, I'm glad you cant eat fish ;)  Henry will enjoy the smoked salmon you shared.

THANKS to Adam, Linda and Headwaters as well as the food masters making sure everyone got plumper and happy from the potluck.

Too much fun :) see yall at the next one :)

No fish to be had for myself but had a great time as always.  It is so nice to hang with good friendly people.  And what an awesome job on the clean up, it makes me sad to see how filthy that river gets.  People have no respect for mother nature.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
