8/6
I fished around the Island in Bodega with Guitarzan on Sun.  It was a pleasant but fishless day.  We decided to save face by stopping on the way home to pick some fat blackberries.  We got several quarts each, in short order.

I got home to find I had a tuna ride leaving at 11:00 PM (ARGH!)

8/7

We arrived at the "guide" (50 miles out) around 6:00 AM.  Steady pick of fish until 1:00 PM - singles, doubles and triples.  At one point we had all six lines hooked up but landed only 3 due to crossed lines and dropped fish.  I tried jigging a swimbait with my virgin Saltiga and got a rats nest but still hooked a fish and landed it by reeling over the tangle.  Luckily it was a small fish and didn't pull the line back into the rats nest.  We ended the day with 26 fish from 10 to 20+ Lbs for four anglers.  I saw what I thought was a small marlin jump but was unsure until I heard Bob Franko, the Coastside founder, had also seen two 10 foot marlin in the area.  We had an albatross follow us while we were cleaning the fish.  Total time on the water - 20 hours.  Total sleep from Sunday morning to Manday night - 3 hours.

If the winds calm down next weekend it would be a good time to try a tuna mothership trip.
