I will be there for my first attempt at Salmon fishing. Has anyone heard if the fishing is improving?

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

Is an anchor necessary to fish this area of the river?
Thinking about showing up.

It's slow goin out there right now. Hopefully it will change real soon. There has been a few caught from boat and bank. I've been out there the last few days since Sunday and nothing for me even though they are rolling everywhere from pump house to J st.

Skunk for me today. But I did see salmon on a stringer. I look forward to the report!

Nice to meet and chat with the guys in the parking lot.

You are not the only one!  I saw a nice salmon on James' facebook feed.  I opted to stay home and cook my underappreciated wife some breakfast.  Looking foreward to that report!

A lot of skunks today but one big smiile on James's face! No love for me, lost two lures, broken rod, but found somebody kwikfish so it wasn't a total loss. A lot of NCKA out there today, a lot salmon on the water, jumping all over the place...just not biting, I would of killed for a J-5 0r 7 today just for  s@#ts and grins to try it out.  I saw big ones hitting stuff on the surface.  Some a couple of guys fly fishing, they had not caught anything when I saw them. Traffic on the way home sucked, new bridge, same traffic.

When u buy a annual pass now they charge you another 20 something for a card you have to carry with u at all times on the water.
Weird.
i never  heard anything from the person i bought it for that i have to keep it with me on the water. they just said keep it on your dash. that was the only requirement for the people that check the vehicles so they wouldnt ticket you. i literally just picked up my annual pass with the small watercraft tag a couple of days ago.

Unfortunately I lived up to my screen name, empty net.  I did have a good day, 1st time on AR and spent some quality time with one of my sons.  Thanks to Al & Kevin and others for the tips to a newbie.  Still having a blast doing this.

They should have given you a small yellow card that you have to keep with you when using your kayak. It doesn't say on the Non-Motorized Pass card that you always have to have it with you. The guy from REI, where I got my pass from, just informed me that I need to have it with me on the water.
