I wanted storage in my truck bed and to be able to sleep in it at the same time.
I've seen the drawers in some trucks but they get heavy. I'm a wimp and needed something a little easier to pull out.
Online bed slides are anywhere from $900 to $1200. Screw that.
I used some casters from the local hardware store for the bottom drawer to slide out.
Casters underneath and on top to keep it from tipping.
The top portion also slides out but is not on casters.
It is held in place by a rail on three sides. The closed tail gate acts as the forth rail.
The entire unit can be removed no problem. Nothing is bolted to the truck.
Looking forward to it's maiden voyage.

No problem at all.
Slide the top off to shed some weight.
Then slide the box out. Done.
It works REALLY well if you have one of those folding leg tables at the end of the tail gate.
Just slide the whole thing onto that.

Nicely done. Love making mods. I had planned to do something similar to my Honda Element, but had not considered a sliding drawer, just a deck atop some modular plywood boxes. Great idea that I might have to incorporate into my plan. Thanks.
