Looking for a good spinning rod / reel combo ( left hand retrieve ) for throwing spinners on the Trinity, if you have a used one in good condition and can ship to Redding let me know.
Or if you would like to make a suggestion on a good combo I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks,
Tim

I love my Loomis HSR9000S paired with a Stradic 3000 or a Symetre 2500FI great side drifter and you can throw small warts.

Nice combo.  I use a Loomis STR1024S with a Symetre 2500.  Similar combo, but fast vs. ex-fast and 8.5' vs. 9'.

The 9000 is 7"6" with a smaller grip

Hah!  I just assumed 9000 meant 9'.  I didn't even check!

How much are you looking to spend
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

If you have a CVS nearby, check to see if they have the Lamiglas Rock Creek series of rods.  They're basically cheap Made In China rods, but I've been using a 8'6" 8-12 pound spinning version with a Shimano Sedona 4000 series spinning reel for the last few years, and have been very pleased with it.  Many, many steelhead and even a few Chinook up to 12 pounds have been landed using this setup, and it's great for swinging spinners on the Trinity.

I think the Rock Creek rods sell for close to 100 bucks, and the Sedonas around 60 bucks.  Not bad at all.  But hell, when I first started out for steelhead I was using a 6'6" medium-action Ugly Stick.  Not the best rod for steelheading, but it caught a lot of fish (including my PB from the Trinity, a 32 incher).  The fish don't know what kind of rod you're using  :smt003.

Can't go wrong with the Symetre in 2500 or 3000.   I have a nice 9'6" Lamiglas (8-12#) I like for spoons, floats, drifting - but I also use a 9' Clarus (6-12lb) that's a good rod for a lower price.  I think the Clarus now comes in a 9'6" model as well.  That Lami G1218 (7'6") is a nice shorter rod for on the kayak - it's a great side-drifting rod as well.

Matt and Clay are right on you don't have to spend a ton, but if you are throwing spinners all day you will be happier with a light  rod in the 7/7.5' range and the smaller handle.

The Clarus is pretty nice too CSSW76MB

If you like the Stradic, check out the Spheros.  About half the cost & just as good IMHO.
