Big thanks to Dan over at Headwaters in Lodi for getting me a great deal on one of his Jackson demo’s.  First trip out nets me my first ever salmon off of the kayak.  Beginner’s luck I guess.  After being towed about ¼ mile downstream, I ended up having to hop out of the kayak and onto the deck of my brothers boat to land the fish.  Long story short, he ended up with the net on his boat.  We must have looked like a couple of fools trying to land this thing.

As for the actual fishing report, we were jigging on the Feather River at Star Bend.  This was the only fish that we hooked up with, but we did see 5 or 6 others caught that morning.  We were off of the water by 9 am.
