I'm going to see if I can find what's biting. Company is welcome. I want to be on the water by sunrise. I have some live minnows, clams and LMB lures. I have been reading the great post by Steveislost so I want to check out some of the spots he highlighted.

I am still pretty new to kayak fishing. This will be my second time at the port and I hope to learn how to fish it before the event in Dec. I will have my radio set to channel 69 if anyone is on the water too.

Most of the sac locals will be on the AR tomorrow.  You are more than welcome to join us.  If not, good luck at the port!

No LMB today but I did manage to catch some catfish. I was glad I had the info from steveislost. My fish finder was acting up and not working most of the day. I was able to find the drop off just past the bridge and got all my fish there. Thanks Steve. That write up should be made into an article.

Good work traildad. The stripers and other anadromous species should be showing soon get ready for them. I can't wait to hit up the port again

Tell me more about those catfish, my catfish hole in the delta has gone completely dry over the last few years, last couple of trips were total skunks on catfish.

If you click on the link in my first post above it will take you to a great series of posts on the port of sacramento fishing. Post #5 talks about the area outside the bridge. There is a red area circled in the photo that outlines a drop off where the deeper ship channel starts. That was where I was fishing. I was using clams and live minnows. Both were working. It is supposed to be best on an outgoing tide but I was fishing the incomming.
