We mostly trolled in the fog for no salmon but made a few stops for rockfish.  Tim landed a decent cab that puked up a baby octopus (that I landed all my fish on) plus this 7" swim bait.

That's a trip. Last year I filleted a ling that had an old rusty 1/0 hook stuck in its innards.

I've always wondered how they made those things.

Seeing as it could have puked it up anytime, it must have been Ok in there. Did you fish with that swimbait? That would be a story!

The lure didn't get re-fished and has a couple of bite marks. That cabezon  sucked it right off the leadhead I'm guessing. There was a digestive? coat on the plastic and it looked like it had been ingested somewhat recently.  Would it have eventually puked it up or killed the fish?  The baby octopus it also coughed up had some breakdown and appeared to be digesting just fine.
I'm going to start using a dab of super glue jell to fasten the swimbaits to the leadhead.  I used to do it all the time.  My plastic lasted longer, didn't slide down the hook shaft and saw a higher landing ratio as I recollect.

They do stay on alot longer,,,and when you get that hit&let go, you can drop it back down with some confidence that it is still intact and ready to fool.......not in a titty-twist.
