The prohibition is the biggest farce ever foisted upon the citizens of the USA.  Legalize it, tax it, and assure some quality control.

Trying to sue probably negatively affects his reputation FAR more than growing.

It really is one of the dumbest laws we have...   Was never a problem until Dow Chemical got the patent on nylon, then lobbied for criminalizing it.     Hemp is such a great  source of material for all sorts of textiles.

And alcohol  legally sold on three out of four street corners.
Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

Keep the dope out of the hands of minors.  Has anyone else noticed how on Tom's segments he always sounds like he just had a joint?  I mean, he talks in such a soft voice, and is so mellow.    He talks about all the wilderness he see The  wild game he sees and the fish that he catches.  I know when I talk about those things I get animated as hell.  I'm just saying... :smt002

He doesn't want his reputation to be tarnished, he may reach more readers than California and the rest of the country doesn't have the laxed view this state does. Growing anything in commercial farms is not good, especially things you eat :smt006. The water theft had no evidence linking it to marijuana.

Right. Someone else with water needs in eastern Humboldt county stole it.

Funny, I thought his old growing bust was common knowledge by now, and old news. Seems like this is just bringing more attention to it, so gotta wonder about the motives. If he needs publicity, he should just try twerking on an awards show.  :smt102

Or maybe it's the whiskey.  :smt002

First of all he was never arrested or booked.
Second, They were not his plants in the barn
Third,  he pretty much had his reputation and life completely screwed by a out of control sheriffs dept. who had no case.
Tom Stienstra is an incredibly nice man who didn't deserve to have this happen to him.
He has been one of my best friends for years and he would do anything to help me if I needed it. Anything.
So it's fun to beat him up over this and when you don't know the story it's easy to believe anything you read or hear.
Leave him alone.
Tom
ps I have been fishing with him tons of times and it is a great time.

Now I wanna meet this dude.. Sounds cool as hell. There are much bigger problems in the world right now than worrying about marijuana. Its the meth makers that do the real damage to the environment.

Honestly, thank you for telling a different side of the story than what we read on the intrawebs, sounds like a lot of us (myself included) don't think what he is being raked over the coals for, should be a crime anyway, whether he did anything or not is almost a moot point <LOL> Sorry to hear your friend was mistreated, that is never a good thing :smt009
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

To me, the entire episode is silly. What he allegedly did wouldn't even be a crime in Humboldt assuming properly posted medicinal recommendations. But suing people for anonymity when you are a public figure is pretty silly too. The free press is allowed to get things wrong and as long as it is without malice intended the free press can get it wrong about a public figure all they want. Small claims just seems ridiculously petty here, so I assume that there is more to it, like some long running feud with the blogger or something.

Solution:  fish more. Tom, if you are reading this, I'll be in yreka for the next two days. Shoot me a pm and lets go fishing, I hear the half pounders are biting in the Klamath.

If he has his card. and states he eats the pot with an extra fee he can legally grow 99 plants. How do I know this my neighbor showed me his card. And a paper he copied and posted next to his garden. A neighbor whom is undercover told him to get the card it is cheep compared to what he could have happen.
