With the fishing package that i got my kayak with they give you a grappling style anchor and after everyone saying that those "are not what you should use" i have finally gotten it through my thick skull to abandon that syle and pony up to buy a corect anchor. if i am going to be fishing the american i at least need to do things corectly. so if anyone has an extra anchor that will work (i think they said 12 pound mushroom/pyramid) and they want to sell, i will be willing to buy it off of them. Shoot me a PM if you have what i am looking for and want to part with it...

thanks for taking the time to read.

Not for the Rivers. Kayak drift anchors can range anywhere from 8-12lbs depending on your boat size and river current. The norm is 10lbs but some boat have a higher drag when sitting stationary in the current which mean either more weight or a heck of a lot more rope out.

I'm in the same situation as WBTE; the wrong anchor for the river, so if there's anyone else with an anchor for sale, I'd be interested too.

If anyone has a mold, I think I can round up the lead from a source for tire wheel weights.  Maybe that could work?

I can make 5, 8,10 pound pyramid anchors. I've made them for bird, paddleboy84, and numerous others. Let me know via pm. Thanks.

I have 250# of lead. I can get more too. About $1 a pound. If anyone needs some I can get it still as far as I know. It's mostly wheel weights so there will be some loss due to the clips.

I would love to get enough for a 12# anchor. I drive by Sheridan a few times a week.
