Awesome looking trip right there! What's the launch like for whalers? I have the same boat and would love to get my family up there!

Is it a beach launch and do you need four wheel drive?

Thanks for the report!

Otter - There's a launch ramp by the little pond area but you have to launch the boat there during high tide because the entrance to the river is pretty shallow during low tide. There's a beach launch area by the bridge that you can use but you need 4X4 to launch there.

Freddie, smoking report and pic!!!
It is not a beach launch. There is a small gravel ramp with no dock. You shouldn't have a problem, even at low tide we saw boats coming through. However those boats may be locals that know exactly where to go/not go. You also need waders to launch/retrieve boat from gravel ramp.

Sweet man, mine's an '87 also!  Twinsies!!!
Whaler's sure seem to be popular choices amongst yak-anglers.
