It is kinda weird when a first post from someone that has been registered since 2008 to ask where to buy anchovies?  :smt009

Do you need a fishing pole too and have you ever fished?  :smt005

Glad to see your doing better but newbies with questions like this will get the business.

JIMBO you like stirring the pot dontcha.  :smt003

I was thinking the same thing.   :smt044

In all honesty, I didn't find Abdiver's comment to be out of line in anyway.  He said it in a civil manner and I'm sure a lot of people were thinking the same thing anyways.

Welcome back donnerlksully and congrats on defeating that cancer!  Get back out there and post some reports for us!   :smt004

Habanero,
I see I have failed to clarify something. I live about 235 miles from the ocean in Reno. I have lived over 200 miles from the ocean for the last 32 years. So I do not visit the north coast very often-once a year if I am lucky.
I started ocean fishing when I was 11 on crystal pier in SD, then Manhattan Beach and Redondo, and the barge and the north coast. I fly fish and use conventional gear. I started ab diving when I was 20, I have open water naui and LA county diving certs and lots of experience free diving on the north coast. All my fishing and diving was BK-before kayaks were widely used for fishing and diving.
I went kayak fishing with a guide in Monterey and did well. Decided to try again with my boat at moss landing. I got an early start but it was after lunch when I finally found a place that sold bait.
So I went on the internet to shortcut that process- no luck. Then I thought I would post an inquiry on the NCKA site for an upcoming trip to FB. I had no clue this would be a source of angst for a few members. Sorry I did not bow low enough to ask a simple question. Thank you to the members who graciously replied.
Honestly, I have done so little fishing in the last few years and I am so new with kayaks that there is probably nothing useful I could post to this site. Except, if you fish Tahoe watch out for the afternoon wind from the canyons on the west shore. Of course this caution does not apply to some one with the fishing and kayak skills you have listed.
