The aMayesing Brothers (consisting of myself and Matt) will be staying at a vacation rental in Shelter Cove the night of September 5 (Thursday) through the morning of September 8 (Sunday morning).  The plan is, well, to kayak fish mostly  :smt044.  We're hoping to tie into some rockfish+lings, and if the salmon are still around we may try mooching for those as well.  Pretty much fishing for whatever we feel like fishing for.

Thanks to Dr Habanero and his knowledge of the regs (thanks a bunch man!!), we've adjusted the date for our Shelter Cove trip to the end of this week, from the evening of August 22 through the morning of August 25.  Since most of our original group can't make this trip, we're choosing to stay in the Shelter Cove Campground instead of a house.  Target fish will be lings, rockfish, salmon, etc., in no particular order.  The forecast for this upcoming weekend is looking great!  If any NCKAers want to hook up with us, come on down!  I'll have my marine radio on as well if you merely happen to be OTW that weekend.

Tight lines guys, this'll probably be my last saltwater trip for the year before I turn my focus to the rivers.

That's rough...   :smt009

Season's open up here longer - October 31st for rockfish/lingcod from boats.  Trinidad with a Cape run possibility?  Cape camping - I'll meet you there for at least some shore excursions to Fish Bay?...

Re-work it, Bro, and if you go to Shelter Cove just get a big salmon and a halibut.   :smt001

I ran the idea of T-Dad and (potentially) a Cape run by Matt.  He dug it, but he seems to have his heart set on returning to Shelter Cove.  So, that's what we're going to do  :smt001.  We've adjusted the date to this upcoming weekend so we can fish for rockies+lings.  It'd be great if you could make it out Eric!  We plan to fish Friday, Saturday, and maybe Sunday morning if we're not burnt out by that point  :smt005.

I'm planning on being there Friday, it'll be my last trip on the ocean also. I'm with you Clayman, time to get the drift boat cleaned up and ready for the rivers. I start my season on the Trinity river the last weekend of September and don't stop chasing salmon and steelhead until around March 15th.

Right on Prophet!  Hope to see you out there.  As for launch time...can't say for certain, but Matt and I like to get out at least by 6am.  Of course, that's usually wishful thinking with me so it'll probably be more like 6:30am.  If it's past 7am, then I had way too many beers that night  :smt044.

That sounds good. I live in Redway and have about an hours drive. I know people that live at the Cove so I'll get a fish report on Fri. This is going to be a GREAT DAY!!!
