Great report!  I have a friend in Washington who regularly catches coho on a fly off his skiff.  When the hot bite was on  off Doran, there was bait on the surface and an occasional fish slashing thru them.  Maybe ?

I found them Sunday morning, big blues that fought like crazy on my light conventional gear. It was a hoot and I can easily imagine how much fun it would be on the fly.

I was using an 8 foot long rod rated for between 300 and 400 grains. It says it is an 8-10 weight on the rod. I was throwing a 10 weight shooting head.
