15 August – Kayak Fishing for River Salmon

With the high numbers of ocean salmon and stellar ocean fishing everybody is anticipating great river salmon fishing.  River fishing has been hit-n-miss so far but the bulk of the Fall run is poised to move into the river system over the next month. We’ll have a number of local experienced folks to share and discuss rigs and strategies for targeting river salmon.  River fishing also has a unique set of safety concerns – we’ll cover anchoring in moving water and other issues. Should be fun and plenty of information sharing for both new folks interested in the sport and veteran kayak anglers. This salmon season has been one for the records in terms of numbers and quality of salmon that we might not see again for years, hopefully everyone is getting a chance to enjoy it!   

Please post-up if you will attend the seminar so we can get a rough idea of numbers.  We’ll fire up the grill, BBQ some man-dogs and do it up NCKA potluck style.  CCK will provide the man-dogs and fixings, plates and utensils, and water. Potluck will start at 6:30 and we’ll get the seminar started around 7 PM. Hope to see you there.

D-OH!!! Oh man I could really use this knowledge, and would love to meet some of the local crew, but this is smack-dab in the middle of my trip to Oregon! <LOL> Anyone setting up a Go-Pro? I would gladly trade you some home-roasted coffee (guaranteed to knock your socks off) or some rod-repair (replace tips or guides) for some knowledge?

This is great! I been out to the american 4 times with my son since the opener, and got skunked!. this past weekend i asked my son if he wanted to go salmon fishing with me and he said "No thanks"  I sure could use the knowledge and get him excited for fishing again. So ill be there!

Wish it was a little closer to home, the video idea gets my nod if someone were nice enough to do that for those of us out of the area.
