Current situation means I don't have the kind of time necessary for scouting, but have been seriously curious about Pedro Pt and vicinity, I know there have to be fish there

This popped up on Coastside so thought it was worth passing on, maybe next week will take a look out there if by some miracle opportunity is there

From Coastside:

Quote
Started at the red can around the squid boats, nada. Chatted with New Captain Pete and we decided to run up to Pedro for a peek. I hooked and landed a 25" immediately on cable baiter and that was it. Tons of birds slamming the water but lots of jellies. Wind was up a bit so I headed back down south to the Ritz. Hooked and landed a 27" on cable baiter 45 pulls using 2 pound ball. An hour later a 26 pounder on the deck. This fish came at 70 pulls in 70' of water. A few rockies made for a great day! Finally getting some fish.

I've caught a lot of salmon out around the point and outside along the rips

Also found a big dorsal along one of those rips but that can happen anywhere

On good inshore years people have caught a lot of fish right along the beach, and this seems like its shaping up into a pretty good inshore year

Would be nice to see more scouting reports, but doesn't seem like a very popular pastime

Just digging up this old-ish thread... I am planning to fish HMB on Saturday.

It seems like the bite is just south of the Ritz Carlton (about a 5-6 mile paddle). Anyone know if a launch spot south of Pillar Point?
