Cameron Park Thursday the 1st around 4:30

I'll be heading to Cameron Park Lake Thursday after work til sunset.  If anyone wants to come out and join me, I should be there by 4:30.  I'll be fly fishing for bass, crappie, and bluegills.


Entry fee is $5

There fishing Rules:
Catch and release fishing only; all fish must be returned into the lake.
One fishing rod per angler.
Anglers age 16 and older must have a valid California Fishing License visible at all times.
No live bait allowed.
Barbless hooks are required; please pinch the hook barb with pliers.

Was just going to post a hookup when I saw yours. I can be there by 5:15pm. There has been some big aggressive fish there on topwater plugs ,so gear up . I know you like to fly fish so bring some big stuff for the top. You can bring a casting rod  with braid if you got one so you can pull big ugly out of the weeds.

Maybe!!  Is it easy to cart the kayak to the water?  I'm too wimpy to carry it. 

Very simple to cart the kayak,it is mostly paved with slight dirt .

I'll be in my float tube not my kayak.  My float tube has a rack that will have my rods pointing up into the air, I am easy to spot.  See you guys there.

Great meeting two more fishing maniacs, Scott and Nick! 

Fishing was great, we all caught fish.  Scott fly fishing, Nick top water, and me bottom fishing with plastics.  On the water at 5pm and off at 8pm, I ended up with 10 in the net and another 6 that didn't get the hook set well enough.  Here's a couple photos;

Nice outing for sure. It is good to meet new people from NCKA!

Great time with good people!  Maybe next time I'll bring out my kayak for kicks.  I just love my float tube so much, except for having to wear waders in that goose poop laden pond.
