The area around lake san antonio is full of pigs. I don't know anything about hunting them...but I have seen sooo many pigs there in the last decade. They especially like it when you hide cooked bacon under your buddy's tent at night hahaha!
Here's some Hunter-Liggett info: http://www.liggett.army.mil/sites/fishhunt/update.asp

Those are south shore pigs Pat no one gets to hunt em. :smt003 The land on the otherside is private. One area in liggett backs up but prob not this year.

Liggett is OK if you put time in but pigs aren't totally stupid. If people start shootin em in one area they genereally move so finding them consistently can be hit/miss. If you hunt the indians stay in the river bed area and closer to liggett. Other than that DOGS. :smt044

That is right where my ranch is.  I have seen pigs only two or three times.  Once in the day at the top of the hill by my horses and the the other times going to feed my horses late at night.  They are always coming in and working under the oak trees.  My ranch is too small to hunt and does not hold pigs on a daily basis.  I worked on a 5,000ac hunting ranch in high school and they would get like 1-6 a day.  There is public land north of me.  I think it is William" Hill Recreation area and it is BLM.  The terrain there is really steep.   I'm sure that pigs do bed there.

The night before my twins were born we were heading into get dinner and I had to slam on the breaks to avoid hitting 30 crossing Jolon Rd.

I was there in the late 80's and early 90's.   The old dudes (my age now) handled all the big game action.  I was the bird boy.  Pheasants, Bob White Quail, and dove.  I would release the first two really early in the morning, then check in the hunters and lead them too their spots.   It was really fun to see some really well trained dogs work.   They were amazing.  I would make a ton of cash cleaning the birds too.  Sometimes $200-300/day just skinning pheasants and breasting quail and dove.  When I went away to schools, my goal was to become a game warden. .  Once in college for a year, I changed my major to AG.

Couple of years ago one of the partners got out of the hunting business after a really big lawsuit.  There was an odd, shouldn't have happened mild rollover accident while out looking for hogs.  A lady broke her neck and lost the use of everything below her neck.
