Alan,

I am going to have to pass on this trip.  Got to save $$$, Being a teacher and having summers off is nice but I havn't recieved a pay check since June 15th.  Got the Anniversary and a night in Napa coming so I best save every penny till then.

Thanks,
Jason

:smt012 Alan, Checked with the boss at work, she reminded me I have a $1000 class tomorrow and Fri. that was paid for by the company. So a vacation day is out of the question.

Good luck and I will be game for another kayak kink work out trip in prep for some Nor Cal tuna ground 'yak fishing. Oh the possibilities!

Be safe guys and I look forward to the report!

when it comes to industrial pool noodle (pipe insulation) and zip tie engineering, my confidence level is good!

I'll do the other side of the grady white 25 (what is the name of this boat anyways?) tomorrow.

alan, some kind of grommets in your roof or a undermounted u-bolt or cleat or something
would be mighty useful for tying stuff up there (like kayaks).  you might take a look and think about
some kind of modification along those lines. there's holes already for the antennae, so it's not like
holes have not been drilled. looks like some thick sturdy fibreglass.

I am looking forward to launching the kayak by just launching it off the side of the boat into ocean
and diving in after it! swan dive or gainer? decisions. decisions.

What is the departure time from your house, Alan?
What gear should I be bringing; live bait rig or jig rig?

ok, so here's the line up.  pat is deck.  freddie, chucke and jm are on the yaks.  yaks keep their own stringers going.  pat and i will just toss our stuff in the box.   i can stow one yak on top of the excursion.  the other two must be driven up separately or lashed to the boat.  everybody bring your yaks and straps tomorrow to work out the logistics. you guys can fish anyway you want.  grab your own bait tomorrow or let me know and i will pick some up for you.  lunch is on your own as well.

plan on leaving my place at 4:30am, arriving at hmb at 5:30am, underway at 6am, fishing at 6:30, headed in at noon, back at the ramp at 1pm, scrubbed at 2pm and back to my place at 3pm.  if we can't scrub down at hmb, we'll come straight back to my place and scrub down.  figure you'll be home by 4-5pm.  just for perspective, on an albacore run, we would need to be underway at 4am.

see you guys tomorrow.

Alan and Crew-

This is going to be totally nuts. I know that Alan has been hot to do something exactly like this for a while. I'm totally looking forward to this. The Grady looks ready and willing to take the yaks on.

Alan-
I'm about 5 minutes away from your place I can meet you there and follow you up to HMB. It's all good... We can finalize the details tomorrow or something. Let me know if you need any help with anything in the morning or whenever. I'm only about 5 minutes away from you and it's no bother to me.

Let's get ready to do this guys...

Freddie

This is going to be an experience trying to transport, launch, and land 3 yaks on a boat.   I hope it's not too rough out there.  I just don't wanna scratch Alan's beautiful Grady.

J.... Thanks for helping Alan with the mothership rigging.

Alan... are we going to try for butts and/or salmon too... or are we exclusively targetting rockfish?

Pat... I know you'll need your jig rigs.  I usually bring a little mix of everything.

It's going to be fun with this motley crew!

The idea is to strap the yaks on the side of the roof structure, hence the need for some padding.
