Reports looked good this afternoon of salmon off chimney rock. So thinking of going for it again...probably not an early launch -- 6:30-7 or so

Im in. forecast looks to be 5 to 15 so early morning should be smooth. 6:30 sounds early enough too!

I am a likely, also....  Lifeboat House, I think I will drive down and unload, then park back up the hill at the circle.

6.30am means I leave home at 4.30am, and up at 4am....  phew.  Hopefully I'll be tired enough from Dux saturday that I'll get to sleep early....

Dang, how am I gonna have a dating life with this hobby...  :smt017

Exactly!  Last time, I took Steve's suggestion and dropped off the yak by the ramp (need to heave it over a gate though), parked the car back up the hill (out of photo) and walked back down.

It seems best done from the launch ramp with 2 people so you can get help lifting over a locked gate.  Otherwise I think you can take the left fork road at the parking area and launch off Drake's Beach if you are alone.

it worked out well, save for returning to a huge crowd at the Life Boat House and Rescue releasing baby sea lions and a harbor seal...  we yielded to the babies trying to swim out, and landed to lots of questions...  They turned away while we drove down the hill "authorized vehicles only beyond this point" and I don't think the rangers ever found out.  A few cars down there anyway for the release.  Nonetheless, we felt a bit like we were intruding... No fish either, but all was well as ended well.

I'm contemplating either bodega or point reyes for Saturday.  The ocean is predicted to be as flat as it ever gets with low winds.  I'll post late tonight as to my decision.

If I can swing it, I am in as well. Quick drive over from Windsor, and I have put off a shot at salmon for to long now.

Though I think I am still fishing Dux Saturday morning, I too may prefer the fishing out of Bodega instead of Pt Reyes on Sunday - hear lots of silvers are around Pt Reyes right now, and good reports out of Bodega.

I have no clue where to kayak launch out of Bodega...  I hear some good action is SW from Elephant Rock.

Thanks for keeping me posted!
