I dont know about that forecast Tim. Thats too generalized (Point Reyes to Pigeon Point). The one I posted was specifically for HMB. I do see the small craft advisory. Funny thing is, its the same exact forecast as when we went out last time at HMB minus the fog: 6-10 knots wind and 4-5ft swell and that was the forecast on the same day and not prior.

We can always just check it out, I know I will considering its in my backyard and decide from there.

Is there a plan B in case HMB is too windy? Monterey?

Sunday: W wind 5 to 9 kt. Mostly sunny. Mixed swell...W 3 ft at 8 seconds and SW 2 ft at 15 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

PP wind NW 15mph with 7 feet NW swell  increase to 20mph at 2PM. I'll stay put.

So are we going to HMB or Monterey?  Going to get the burgers and buns now. I'll be back.

I'm seeing the same thing as Herb.  We saw a similar forecast when we went last week, and it wasn't bad at all.  Or even few weeks ago at PP, there was small craft advisory then as well and we were fine.  I think we can take a look and if its no good, we can make the call.

I'll be out there.  I'll be seeing some of you guys in the AM.

Check out this one.

Compare tomorrows and today's forecast. The guys that went out today said it was doable and they scored limits.

Where did this post come from? We're hitting HMB and not Pigeon Point. Least you can do is check it out first  and decide from there. It's not like you're driving an hour or so to get there. Remember Santa Cruz?? But I'm not gonna force you to come. It seems you've made up your mind.

Is there a plan B in case HMB is too windy? Monterey?

Sunday: W wind 5 to 9 kt. Mostly sunny. Mixed swell...W 3 ft at 8 seconds and SW 2 ft at 15 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

It's not a bad idea to have a plan B. My only concern is the drive from HMB to Monterey. By the time we get there, set up and fish, the wind might picked up by then. With HMB, we can just take advantage of the light morning swell/wind and head in when it starts to pick up. Just saying. But if I arrive and see HMB not fit to fish, then I would be open to any suggestions.

Here's the latest forecast:

Sunday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming NW 5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Patchy fog before 11am. Mixed swell...WNW 5 ft at 8 seconds and SW 2 ft at 15 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

It's not concrete. We've all seen how the forecast can change overnight. But we've fished worse conditions than this along SMC coast.

My main concern is I am bringing a brand spanking new newb along, so I am not taking any chances with weather tomorrow.

I am simply reply to Tim's plan B and PP/BH is the next stop

I would not fish Pigeon Point with that forecast even without a newb tagging along.

But you gotta admit it turned really nasty out there. Those swells were huge!

Yep, the best is to show up and see the condition and decide.   I can undestand those have to dirve for a distance to be at either HMB or PP/BH.
