does anyone else have an issue with the guy in the kayak having a line attached to the yak and pulling him to keep him from tipping? seems a bit like cheating, no? so if the yak was tethered directly to the back of the boat but he was sitting in it would that still be a legit catch "from a kayak"

Yes, his PA was tether to the back of the boat the entire time. Not sure if that qualifies as landing a fish from a kayak.

That ain't kayak fishing in my book... I'm not sure what you'd call that.

Looks more like someone caught a grouper, stuck a rope to it, then hopped in a kayak...

i have an issue with this person that puts up these videos "Captain chancey" in his videos he is kind of a tool. he has made himself something on the internet by like 90% of his videos are him pulling up these groupers. now hear me out. i think it would be fun to catch one and everything but the way he goes about it thereis little sport, he uses huge over sized hooks, the line he uses is tremendous overkill and the reels he uses are  ridiculous as far as there being no chance in hell that these things are gonna get away. he uses small rays for bait for these groupers and he snags them with a treble hook which is kinda wack in my book, but i guess its ok because they are going to be used for bait anyways. but he has a few videos of " body builder catches huge grouper"  and its some roid monster with a winch on a pole as thick as a broomstick...i dunno maybe its just me but i dont like that guy that puts up the videos.

What a bunch of tools.
1st Place in a private tournament I did not invite anyone else to be in. (and I barely squeaked out a victory)

That was a Goliath Grouper, I believe, which are a "no-no" to catch.

1. Hobie itself classifies the Pro Angler as a boat.
2. They were evidently fully prepared to video it, but no video of anything but the end the fight. No video of the boat being towed around, by the fish.
3. The fish was being caught via handlining - no, correction hand roping.
4. I did not see any gloves on the catcher.  Some people may have tough hands, but I think we all know what would happen to a person's hands if a 300# fish peeled more than  a few feet of rope through them.
5. As noted the boat is tied / connected amidships to another boat. Kind of makes it a Catamaran.

You can catch them, you just can not harvest them, which usually means you can not take them out of the water.

From Florida fish and wildlife page:
Goliath grouper are a prohibited species; therefore the species receives greater protection to ensure its continued health .  An FWC rule states that "No person shall harvest in or from state waters, nor possess while in or on the waters of the state, or land, any Nassau grouper or goliath grouper."
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Which makes it two boats fighting a fish
No shots of the Grouper towing the Pro Angler - like the Thresher towed Sin Coast's Revo
