Supposedly a picture of George Perry holding his world record largemouth surfaced... On the 81st anniversary of the catch.

What do you think? Legit or fake?

I think fake, but I'm a skeptic.

*That fish is in an odd position. The mouth is gaping open, even though he is not lipping the fish.

*He's standing in the water as if he just caught it, but the fish looks dead. Drips falling into the water from the fish imply it was just lifted from the water, but the gaping mouth doesn't seem right for a live bass...

It does look like a mounted fish... Big bass bellies (well maybe all big bellies) are soft. His fingers would be deforming it and the bass would be a bit floppier under it's own massive weight.

I have caught tons and tons of bass and never had one hold its mouth open while its picture was being taken.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Exactly what I'm saying... And if it were already dead, why would he be standing in the lake with it?
