Hi All,

So I got this and I'm a little stumped for the best method for installing the transducer.

Apparently side imaging needs an "in water" install? I think I'd like to try that regardless, but how to do it on my Revo is kind of a stumper at first glance. Have any of you done it?

Thanks

Ben

side imaging would need an in the water install.  on a revo i would say the following:

1. through scupper mount (some guys have done that) - won't work if you use scupper cart, but should be OK otherwise - gotta be careful of transducer when dragging kayak
2. rudder mount - may create some additional drag, is behind you, will not work if you pull the rudder for shallow water/weedy areas/stumps
3. suction cup mount - that's how i've been mounting recently since im still in the decision making process for #1 and #2.

Ummmm ... that's a DOWN imaging unit.  You can goop that in your kayak.  I have the same model and goop.  Confirmed with Humminbird that it is ok to do so.

LOL ... I got the caution for side imaging from a Google search. This unit does everything but the dishes so I just assumed ...  :smt002

Thanks Allan

Yes i am, easy to transfer from boat to boat since i have three kayaks and dont feel like gluing down transducers/pucks on all three.  i actually started doing it on my inflatable since that didn't have a easy mounting solution.

i do have a foam bath in my primary kayak (the AI) which works fine.
