NCKA Islander Trip, 2013 Report

Im gonna eat thresher im gonna eat thresher!!

I'm cleaning up and vacuum packing twenty pounds of halibut fillets right now...

Just to give you some idea of the size of Pat's thresher.

Uhhh, it actually looks kinda small in that pic Allen hahaha! It was 105 inches and ~130lbs dude!

Just amazed here at all the great shots, the fantastic weather , the smiles and the variety of quality fish. You guys nailed it.

This trip definately deserves an OMG!  Big halibut, sea bass, AND threshers!  wTG fellas, strong work!

So why didn't your t shark win the jackpot? Don't get me going but a 50# t shark out fights a 50# WSB and it isn't close.

So many positive aspects to going on a trip like this.  Highlights were finally learning how to pronounce polepole--it's poleypoley; meeting bushy and finding he has more gray hair then me (hehe); knowing how to catch squid and use them as bait; gaining confidence to be able to use a three way without tangling, and many other fish related subjects.  The OEX people put on a class ride and they make you feel welcomed from  embarking to disembarking. Food was always timely and good.  Jersey knocked it out of the park.    Fishing was solid.  In fact, I heard Busy state at one time. this is just silly fishing.  I think he meant that all you had to do is put anything down, and a calico would strike it.  I caught calicos, whitefish, sheepshead, boccacio, rosey, and other unidentified fish.  Oh, did I mention there were a lot of calicos.   It is amazing to be able to talk fishing from the moment you get up, till the moment you hit the bed with people of like mind.  I was surrounded by fish addicts like me.  I loved it.

That's pussy BS IMHO. Sorry, I have caught big WSB and T sharks from a kayak and there is no comparison. No offence Joe because I have a ton of respect for your skills. Just saying as far as beating you down...

What a great trip you guys got in! Congrats on all the sweet catches.

Wow!  Just imagining a trip like that was overwhelming for me!  All the pictures, great fish and nice water are incredible.  Way to pull off a hardcore and very badass trip!

No one on the trip seemed to mind.  Too many good times going on to worry about it ...
