I took out my wilderness system ride 115 for some bass slaying at Lake Del Valle on Friday but no luck due to my kayak spooking the fish when they go for the attack on my lure. Pretty much my question is any pointers on how far I should anchor from the weed beds? I'm going to try and give it another shot this coming up Thirsday as well.
Their be blood on my yak.

I usually don't anchor for bass fishing. Just keep slowly paddling to hold position. Stay off shore and cast in. It takes practice if the wind is blowing, but is doable. If its blowing too bad I stay home. Wnd sucks.

This....
Way to get out there and give it a go. You could try a drift sock.

Anchor options:
#1 Drop an anchor
#2 Use a stake out pole
#3 Tie off to brush or a tree

If you going to bass fish or troll a lot, get a Hobie.
