Wyoming is the Wild West, when I was there I think the state only had 500,000 people in it. Alcohol laws were wide open. All traffic lights went to blinking red or yellow after midnight. Drive through liquor stores at the rate of two per church!

If it is not too windy, paddle Jackson lake near the inlet streams and troll whatever you like, Rapalas, kastmasters, spinners its all good. Jenny lake is one of the sweetest paddling lakes in the U.S. Not great fishing though. I fly fished there several times, back in the day.The big rivers like the Yellowstone, you might want to hire a guide.

since you're driving --outside of Elko there's a great place to camp, up in a little lake- south fork lake i think it is called.  Alternatively you can push on through to City of Rocks in ID.
then you have to make the decision whether to go through salt lake, or twin falls.  While Bonneville is kinda cool, the drive via twin falls is way better...a bit shorter, prettier, and eventually you can enter Jackson over Teton pass.  There is NO better way to enter "the hole" from the South or west than coming into it from the pass.

Make sure to drop into Pearl St Bagels and say "hi" to Maggie and Les for me...
