best noobie salt spot

just for future reference for me what is one of the better, calmer spots for a noobie kayaker to get his feet salty?

somehwere between santa cruz and bolinas

Santa Cruz.

Monterey is fairly easy if you want a beach launch with wide open space.

Capitola. Go hang out by the kelp beds. You can even cart your yak to the end of the pier and launch from the dock. Cant get any easier than that.

Stillwater south.

I say get plenty of experience in fresh water in all types of weather first than the salt will be easy.

I know right...... Im just so excited. lol

My first time in the salt was SWS.  Easy launch, sheltered from the NW wind and you can stay inside the cove or venture out farther if you feel comfortable.  Most important- Go with someone experienced and get your safety gear.

Ocean Salt, add Half Moon Bay to the list because of its Harbor launch.  Bolinas is a pretty easy launch also, although you'll want to stay close to shore in the bay and fish for Halibut and maybe a Striper.  Since the Bay is also salt, I'll add Brickyard Cove in San Rafael.  Pt. San Pedro Rd. at Riviera drive, on the way to China Camp.  You park about 10 ft from the water, easy access to good striper territory.   Just make sure you aren't landing at a really low tide, like 1-2 ft.
