Wondering if anyone has a specific set up for small lake trolling for trout that would work well at Sugar Pine. My plan is to troll small flashers and drag a threaded worm/corn about 18" behind. Also going to pick up some PB eggs to see if they work also.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!   :smt006

I use a cast master with about 1/2" piece of power bait trout worm (3" tear off bits) put it on one of the treble hook barbs and slow retrieve... I have caught over 75 trout this week on that setup. The same fish I'm catching were stocked in that lake too... Use the smaller cast master in blue and chrome as the fish are 10 to 13" and have small mouths and tend to miss the larger hooks... The key to anything you though is the either chartreuse bit of worm or salmon egg on the hook. They lock onto that NOT the lure to bite. They just stocked it wend so go get them and Don't forget the Tin foil and BUTTER  Wish I could join you out there. Oh, there is a creek arm off to the left after you launch and a large flat that hold bass so take bass gear too. The otters (and Russians )WILL attack you if you mess with them so don't get to close :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 Good luck and tight lines...
Oh, one more tip/hint...
Trolling this setup seems to work for me but I also toss it to shore and drag it back letting it fall as I retrieve just off the bottom for best results. they have seemed to like the splash down and chase...

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Thanks for all the info. Are you dragging the castmaster solo or behind a few flashers? I think have a few seps flasher setups.

Thanks Weimarian,

The tips worked great over the weekend. Many hits on the castmaster and even a few in the boat. Most where small plants but it seemed everyone was getting 5 fish stringers on thew water. I fished the left side of the dam (if you where standing on it looking at the lake) from the dam to where it shallows out.

Small planters are about all you get there. Otters clean that lake out pretty well over the winter. Glad you got some and got to enjoy that area. One of my fav swimming holes :smt006
