Hello, Iam new to this but you can count me in. I will probally show up with GTO19(Erik) He's the one that got me into all of this. It's great , I have not had so much  fun fishing in all of my shore fishing days as I have had on my new Tarpon 120. Which by the way seems to be a good little kayak. Well, hope to see all you guys out there and make some new fishing buddies

Looks like the spinnerbait bite is on at Lexington.  Smaller fish, but lots of them according to this report!

The trout I got there had shad in them, so lexington has shad. I saw those guys had white spinnerbaits, I assume that's a shad imitation?

Yes.

However, it is clear to me that they were fishing too shallow for the bigger fish as they were fishing shoreline cover with spinnerbaits.

If they had fished the deeper areas off of points they would have gotten a better grade of bass in my opinion...

Uh.....did I just let the cat out of the bag?

Heh.

Hey, I'm all for helping people catch fish in this tourney.  It means a better shore lunch.

I will be meat hunting in this tourney and hope to bring a limit in for tacos.  This lake looks like it is full of fish and given the range of sizes that I've seen the spawn has been good the last few years.

I have no issue with harvesting some bass here.

I will do my best to get a day of pre-fishing in before the tourney, and in fact, may go to lexington for my test paddle on Saturday.

Hmmm.....  Yes, that is a good idea.  I will switch my Saturday fish to lexington on the big game.

Anyone who wants to join me is welcome on Saturday morning.

Hey there,
I did a little scouting yesterday, they were striking on POP-r some descent size. So what time were you thinking of going on Saturday

I'm not sure.  Not super early, and there is an outside shot that I am going to flip with Sunday and do my brewing on Saturday......

I am taking a real laid back attitude with this scouting trip.

Pop-R 'eh?  Sounds fun.  I love top water (who doesn't?)

How late in the day were they still hitting topwater?

Sweet.

That sounds good to me actually, the evening bite instead of the morning bite.....

I quit fishing for years, just now starting up again.  Used to fish Lexington a lot.  Up by the dam area more towards the
freeway side, in fairly deep water, there is a nice hump that comes up to about 4-6 feet below the surface best I remember. It used to have some nice submerged stumps on it.  I used to fish it really early AM with top water and
caught some large fish there.  May be wrong but think there are larger bass there as the hump is surrounded by deep water, best I remember big bass many times like to be close to a deep water access.  What ever the reason I caught big fish in that area.  Went there a few weeks back, didnt fish the dam area, but did notice some sore of pipe floating in the vicinity of where I remember that hump being, hopefully its not blocking access to it.  Good luck to you all at the MBF.

I know exactly where you are talking about.

I have seen it when the lake was very low in the previous years.

Now shush about my secret tournament spot...  :smt002

I see floattubers working that area and I have been broken off there after failing to retie from the previous fish.

I forgot to put this in the rules so here is an amendment:

Winner has to give up Lure/Location/Technique for the winning fish.

And if people think $10 is steep for an MBF we can go $5 if you like.

MolBasser

oh man, 10.00 is more than worth this event just to get the "Lure/Location/Technique for the winning fish." for this location!

New Hobie Outback

Lots of new gear

Anxious to get some fish

Here I was, all ready to join you guys, but I'm working 8am-noon on the 29th.  :smt010  I work alternating Saturdays at the college, and this tourney just had to fall on a working Saturday.  Oh well, next time!

At least I get to hit the ocean tomorrow (for the first time!) with Allen's fishing clinic.

Good luck at Lexington!
