I plan on  making a trip to the BI this Summer. If anyone is interested in going let me know. Would be cool to get two or three guys and do a week long trip. Would likely hire my friend Andy Cho as a guide.  Camping or hotel or both I'm flexible The Big Island is a magical place for sure. Can't wait to go back. I'm going for sure either way just though t i would throw it out there if anyone else wants to go. I don't have any dates. plan on going July or August.  Some pics of my friend Andy's catches included.  If you want to follow his day to day catches on Aquahunters check his thread here.

Oh man, this would be a dream trip, but no way is it in my future for a year or so at least. I really dig the AQ vibe & the HI fishing scene, & never been to the Big Island.

catching shibis, onos, & ahi from the kayak would be amazing. Hell, just catching opelu bait would be a major feat for me :smt044

gotta live vicariously through you for this one, but I will be watching for your report :smt001

Yellow fin tuna, sailfish, marlin, ono, pretty much everything else. Off shore is only a few hundred yards out.
Piscina those Opelu are hard to get. Got Andy for that. Fished three days a week for a year and never caught them. Inshore fish like amberjack, hamachi, barracuda, are pretty reliable and fun to catch with lures.

By the way plan on making my own food and camping.  I'm pretty flexible.

My birthday is in July, maybe I can swing it.  Need to keep the "boss" happy and wait for the right timing to pop the question  :smt003

I've know for a long time you and I are going someday. If not the summer next.
