I was just going to post when I saw your down in the East Bay..  Really if you want action , come up to Clearlake. You should have no trouble getting bass and maybe a catfish or two. I would suggest maybe the state park near Lakeport , even though I have not camped there.  Lots of people fish from the shore up here and do just fine.   :smt004

Your kids will love Collins lake we have been going there for 10 years and the Kids now adults still love it. There are some great side trips if you are interested I can post more. Only advice is to avoid Fri and Sat nights other than that its very relaxing and the fishing can be very good. No jetskis or motorcycles allowed. Night fishing off the docks with lights is a child pleas-er. No mosquito's or yellowjackets don't know how or why but its great.

Lot of small crappies and bluegill by the dock near the store and the coves. A lot of people bring underwater lights and lanterns and fish for trout off the docks at night, kids have a blast. Best trolling for trout is up the inlet arm above the power lines and down by the damn. Shore fishing can be good by the damn also. Use hot dogs at nite in the shallow areas for some big catfish. Don't forget they serve great Ice cream at the store.

Englebright Resiveior up the road can have good fishing in the upper reaches by boat.http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/bb/index.php?topic=3018.0

Feather River below Orville is heating up for Salmon Fishing.

Our favorite spot a don't miss is Bridgeport on the Yuba river, kids love this spot. Take Hwy 20 east to Pleasent Valley Rd turn left and take it to the bottom of the canyon. The is a park with a museum, covered bridge and picnic grounds. We park on the north side of the river and walk up as far as you can go about 1/4 mile. You will come to a huge swimming hole crystal clear water small waterfall at the end masks and fins are a must. After you leave you boys will always want to go back.http://www.ncgold.com/Museums_Parks/syrp/index.html
