What also works good on the Hawg Troughs is 3/8" foam rope cord as shown below or a wood dowel for strength. Both are great for floatation.

Ive seen some people use that. Also what works really well and what I should have done is the liquid foam sealant. Just spray it in the cracks and take a blade to get the excess off. Next time!
