For people looking for a good deal on a vhf, the SH hx150 at WM is a great deal. Dont buy cobra products!!!!

I picke one of these up a few months ago. Good little radio, floats and 5watts for $100. It's a nice size too, not too bulky.

I got a standard horizons HX851 at Hodges Marine. I can't say it is the best deal or value but it seems to be a good radio. It floats, has max 6 watts and GPS. You can register the MMSI # so if you ever call in a distress call it will transmit your GPS coordinates to the coast guard or any equally equipped ship. Having the six watts and the ability to send your coordinates in your distress call sounded like it was worth the money. Also the GPS give me redundancy in case my fishfinder combo was to malfunction.
