Hey guys,
Last year I seemed to struggle a bit with proper weights.

I'm 190lbs and dive in a 7mm farmer john.

Any suggestions on exact weight I should use?

Thanks for the help!

Start off with 1 pound of lead per 10 pounds of dude. Adjust from there.
Start around 20 pounds. There are sooo many variables to consider, body fat to muscle mass. Composition of wetsuit an gear.
No one will be able to tell you excactly what you need.
Hope this helps

How much weight were you using last year?  Were you over or under weighted?  How deep were you diving?

A good starting point is 10% of body weight plus 5 lbs.  It may be even more with a farmer john suit.

I was using 17lbs, I felt under weighted and struggled diving past 10-15 FOW.

I'd add another 3lb per kj's suggestion and work from there in 1lb increments till you're neutral at the depth you want to dive. Just remember the deeper you go the less weight you're going to need because your suit will compress and lose buoyancy.  First time I got down to 45' my belt which was correctly weighted for the 15-20' range drug me straight to the sea floor.  Kicking up wasn't easy.

I'm 5'9" give or take about 200lbs.I wear a one piece pinnacle 7mm cruiser wetsuit.the weight on my belt is 27lbs I should just use 25 but with the 27 I glide down with ease. Very little kicking if any.but I'm shallow.15ft tops

10 % of your total weight, not just you but any gear too. then adjust in 1 lbs increment.
